Dedicated to William Perry Morgan Cause of Death: William Perry Morgan Obituary

Professor William Perry Morgan was a beloved mentor, artist, and educator who tragically died on Friday, August 29, 2025, in a car accident in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Greensboro College community, as well as innumerable friends, students, and colleagues, are in deep sorrow over his passing. His age was sixty-four.

At Greensboro College, where he was the Theatre Professor and Director of the Musical Theatre Program, Professor Morgan dedicated his life to developing talent and encouraging innovation. He made a lasting impression on the college and the larger theater community with his extraordinary stage vision and unrelenting commitment to his students. He had a strong belief in the transformational potential of art and was dedicated to helping his students grow both personally and professionally.

In addition to his career achievements, William was regarded as a caring and compassionate person. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or in casual conversation, he had a knack of making everyone feel appreciated and seen. His pupils will always remember the secure environment he fostered for expression and development through his humor, insight, and support.

There is a gap left by Professor Morgan's passing that words cannot adequately express. He was "much loved and respected in the Greensboro College community and the theatre community at large," as Greensboro College put it in their memorial. Through the innumerable lives he impacted, the performances he brought to life, and the students he helped pursue their goals, his legacy will live on.

To commemorate his life, his art, and his lasting influence, a memorial service will be announced in the days ahead. Even though his demise is a great loss, his legacy will endure because of his work, his pupils, and the unselfish love he showed everyone.

Professor Morgan, may you rest in peace. Your light will always shine in the hearts of all who knew you, even though your curtain may have closed here on Earth.
